Samvel Nikoyan, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, sent a telegram of condolence to Mohamed Saad Al-Katatny, Speaker of the People’s Assembly of the Arab Republic of Egypt:

“I learnt with sorrow about the tragedy that took place in the football stadium of the city of Port Said of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

On this hard moment for Egypt in the name of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia and myself I express my sympathy and support to you, members of the People’s Assembly of Egypt, victims’ families and the whole friendly people of the Arab Republic of Egypt.”
